I am the daughter of a professional photographer. Around the age of 8 I became my dad’s assistant. As my dad’s assistant, you could always find me right next to him, carrying his camera equipment, changing batteries, and as I grew older, creating business cards and client contracts. Eventually, I was able to assist him in shooting bridal portraits in Duke Gardens and numerous weddings.
In 2013, my father passed. I spent so much time sorting through negatives and old photos. The photos ignited memories and provoked so many happy feelings.
In 2019, my older sister passed suddenly. I became a mom to 4 children. So, 2 degrees in social work, a husband (currently serving in Army), and 4 beautiful children later, I picked up the camera again.
Throughout my life photographs have always been important to me, but today they mean so much more. I gravitate toward family and lifestyle photography because of my own experiences and it’s what helped me. My family photos are receipts, the proof of what I had and what I have.
The most precious and expensive commodity we have is time. Photographs hold moments in time. Photographs capture the present and past; serve as bridges to unknown worlds. They are also reminders of the little things we often take for granted when we have forgotten everything. My passion and aim is to give you a piece of time back through photography.
